Performance Comparisons

Now that we have seen what the new GeForce 7600 GT and GeForce 7300 LE GPUs are all about, let's see just how well they perform! Of course, since we do not have the cards yet, we cannot actually benchmark them. Still, we have some interesting NVIDIA results to check out.

GeForce 7600 GS

First up, NVIDIA compared the GeForce 7600 GS against its primary target - the ATI Radeon X1600 Pro. If their results are anything to go by, the GeForce 7600 GS is anywhere from 20% to 90% faster than the X1600 Pro.

Although it's priced against the X1600 Pro, NVIDIA claims that the GeForce 7600 GS is actually faster than even the X1600 XT! In the slide below, they also added the results of the GeForce 7600 GT.

If these results turn out to be accurate, this will make the GeForce 7600 GS a very attractive mid-range card for gamers on a small budget.

GeForce 7300 LE

Unlike the performance delta we saw earlier between the GeForce 7600 GS and the X1600 Pro, the GeForce 7300 LE is more evenly matched against the X1300 LE.

Although the GeForce 7300 LE was always faster than the X1300 LE, the performance advantage is only from 5 to 20%. Still, it may be enough to push a buyer to choose NVIDIA over ATI.
